SHARE Housing Counselors

The Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) for Pike, Wayne and Monroe counties are recruiting qualified, motivated individuals for positions as SHARE Housing Counselors in their SHARE (Shared Housing and Resource Exchange) program.  This pilot program matches homeowners willing to share space in their homes with individuals seeking an affordable housing option. At least one of the home sharers must be over the age of 60.  To be considered for these contracted positions, candidates must have a strong housing background as well as extensive local home and community based services program knowledge and experience.  


The Housing Pilot contract runs through June 30, 2020.



  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 15 credits in social sciences or experience/education equivalent.



  • Fulltime 37.5 hours per week with flexible hours to accommodate speaking engagements and appointments with participants.
  • Competitive salary with paid holidays and time off.  
  • Position entails extensive travel between Pike, Wayne and Monroe Counties which will require reliable transportation.



  • Strong knowledge of aging, human services, housing and community resources.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to identify and develop educational, marketing and outreach strategies and materials.

Penn State Extension in Pike County, 4-H Youth Development Educator

This individual will function as a team member of the Penn State Extension 4-H Team in Pike County and the statewide 4-H Youth Development Team. This position and the candidate will be an employee of Penn State Extension, functioning as a member of the Penn State Extension 4-H Team, working directly with statewide faculty and staff.

Major responsibilities include planning, implementing, conducting, and evaluating 4-H Positive Youth Development/Science/Volunteer Development educational programming in Pike County, as well as completing necessary paperwork. The Pike County Area Agency on Aging is currently accepting applications for a full time Aging Care Manager Supervisor I position. If you enjoy helping people and advocate for home and community based care, this is the right position for you. This is a civil service position requiring 3 years of experience in public or private social work, and a Bachelors; OR an equivalent combination of experience and training including successful completion of 12 semester hours of college level courses in sociology social welfare, psychology, gerontology or other related sciences. This position is responsible to oversee the delivery of a range of services provided to consumers by our Agency and contractors. You would be responsible to review and analyze case records for completeness and adherence to standards. You would also train and supervise staff, prepare reports, and collaborate with nurse consultants, other professionals and various state and local organizations involved in social services. This job requires Computer skills necessary for data entry of consumers care plan management. Some travel required. Mileage reimbursement available.
