First Time Home Buyer Program

Thank you for taking interest in the Pike County First Time Homebuyer Program! On behalf of Pike County and the Office of Human Services we can help make your dream of becoming a homeowner possible. The goal of the of the program is to increase the opportunities for sustainable homeownership for low-to-modest income home buyers by overcoming the obstacles created by the total cost of purchasing. This program creates a meaningful incentive for the purchase of owner-occupied homes within the County of Pike, enhances the local tax base, and promotes sustainable homeownership.

NeighorWorks of Northeast Pennsylvania (NWNEPA) will provide education services for each eligible applicant. Funds are issued on a first-come first-served basis, and interested applicants are encouraged to start the application process early.

Financial assistance for this program is federally funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development through Community Deployment Block Grants (CDBG). The federal government and the County of Pike set certain and/or approve certain requirements for this program. These requirements are non-negotiable and may include maximum purchase prices, income limits, U.S. citizenship, homebuyer requirements and recapture conditions. Requirements may change at any time but will be communicated to eligible applicants as soon as information is made available. This Homebuyer Program Application Information will introduce you to the program. Please take your time and read it over thoroughly.
