The real property tax is the most important local tax in counties, school districts, and many municipalities. Accurate estimates of the value of the real property is vital for the tax to be fair and accurate. These assessments are done by the county assessment office and are used by all local governments and school districts when levying real property taxes. Assessors determine values for all properties in the county, update records, prepare reports, and in those counties with automated record keeping, may also prepare the tax duplicates. In addition, they prepare change notices that are sent to affected property owners and handle questions of tax exemption for properties owned and used for purely public charity.

Free Individual Property Access

Pike County provides each property owner access to their assessment records free of charge thru CourthouseOnline.com. In cooperation with Evaluator Services & Technology, every property owner will be given a web password on their tax bill.

This will allow access to a “My Property” record where they can review the property information for their parcel and securely submit comments, information, or uploads to the Assessment Office. We encourage all property owners to review their records every year to make sure all information is accurate.

To access your property information, follow the steps below:

  1. Locate an Assessment Change Notice or Tax Bill generated after June 1, 2020.
  2. On your Tax, Bill look for the following information, the Control Number which is formatted as NNNNNN (6 Numbers), and the Web Password which is formatted as AAAAAAAA (8 Letters). If you don't have the Web Password, call the assessment office at 570-296-5936.
