The Pike County Probation Department recently completed a course in Stop The Bleed at the Pike County Training Center. The course was offered by the American College of Surgeons and assisted by members of the Pike County Training Center. The Probation Officers generally complete the Stop the Bleed course on an annual basis. A formal presentation is followed by a hands-on practice of applying direct pressure, packing a wound, and using a tourniquet to stop bleeding and possibly save a life.
Many thanks to Kathryn Bommer of Geisinger Medical Center and Jordan Wisniewski of the Pike County Training Center for their help!
