Emergency Management Office and Area Agency on Aging Deliver COVID-19 Vaccinations to Homebound

Pike County’s Office of Emergency Management and Area Agency on Aging (AAA) worked together to deliver first doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine to 30 homebound individuals on April 14. Second doses will be administered at 28 days.

“We were able to help senior citizens and people with disabilities who don’t drive, have mobility issues, or receive in-home services similar to those provided in a long-term care facility and are served by participating managed care organizations,” says AAA Executive Director Robin Skibber.

The vaccines were provided to the Office of Emergency Management by Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers.

“Assisting our homebound residents is part of our continuing efforts to provide every person in Pike County the opportunity to get vaccinated so we all can get back to our lives beyond COVID-19,” says Chairman Matthew Osterberg on behalf of the Pike County Commissioners.
