Each year, beginning in 1983, the Pennsylvania Organization for Watersheds and Rivers holds the River of the Year program. This year, the Lackawaxen River is among the 2024 nominees! The River of the Year program is designed to increase public awareness of specific rivers and recognize important conservation needs and achievements.
