Notice of Special Election in the 139th Legislative District

A Special Election for Representative in the General Assembly 139th District will be held simultaneously with the April 23, 2024, Primary Election to fill the vacant seat caused by the resignation of Representative Joseph Adams.

The winner of the Special Election will be elected to fulfill the unexpired term ending 12-31-2024. 

The Special Election will appear at the end of the Democratic and Republican Ballots. 

A separate Non-Partisan Ballot will be available for non-affiliated voters. 

The 139th District includes the municipalities of: 

  • Blooming Grove Township 
  • Dingman Township 
  • Greene Township
  • Lackawaxen Township 
  • Matamoras Boro 
  • Milford Boro
  • Milford Township
  • Palmyra Township
  • Shohola Township
  • Westfall Township
All registered voters residing in the 139th are eligible to vote in the Special Election.

Important Dates:
April 8 – Last day to REGISTER to vote for the Primary Election
April 16 – Last day to APPLY for a mail-in or absentee ballot
April 23 – Last day to RETURN voted mail-in/absentee ballots to county election office (must be received by 8:00 pm)

Polls are open from 7:00 am until 8:00 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
